Justices take up sentencing case

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether a criminal defendant can have his federal sentence increased under the Armed Career Criminal Act based on a previous state drug conviction that did not carry the requisite prison term to qualify under the Act at the time of federal sentencing, but did so at the time the crime was committed.
