WASHINGTON – On the last and longest of the three days of oral arguments in the health care challenge, the U.S. Supreme Court takes up the last two issues in the case: whether the individual mandate provision, if unconstitutional, is severable from the rest of the rest of the law, and whether Congress had the authority to condition states’ federal Medicaid funding on the adoption of expanded eligibility and coverage thresholds.
Expect more displays from protesters outside the courtroom today as well, although according to the forecast it may literally rain on their parade.
