Pharmacy chain to pay $55,000 to settle bias case

The new owners of Longs Drugs have agreed to pay $55,000 to settle a claim of race and sex discrimination by a woman who worked as a product buyer at Longs' headquarters in Antioch, Calif. the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said.
