Drugmakers pay $41.5 million to settle Vytorin suits
Merck & Co. and Schering-Plough Corp. said yesterday they will pay $41.5 million to settle lawsuits involving their cholesterol medication Vytorin. The suits claimed the drug makers violated state consumer protection laws by delaying unfavorable study results because they would hurt sales.
