The estate of a seaman who died from mesothelioma was entitled to recover compensation for his pre-death pain and suffering, the Virginia Supreme Court has ruled.

A jury could not award non-pecuniary damages for the wrongful death of a man who was exposed to asbestos during his career in the U.S. Navy, the Virginia Supreme Court has ruled in reversing judgment.
