WASHINGTON – Lawmakers marking the one-year anniversary of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act being signed by President Barack Obama said more work needs to be done – and urged passage of another law that would further boost worker protections.

A predominantly female group of nurses could not recover damages under the Equal Pay Act, despite a higher pay scale for another class of hospital workers that was predominantly male, the Federal Circuit has ruled in affirming a summary judgment.
