Salt Lake City enacted an ordinance on November 10 that prohibits employment and housing discrimination “because of a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” Exemptions include religious and government organizations and employers with less than 15 employees.

WASHINGTON – The chairman of a key Senate committee urged passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which would bar adverse employment actions based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
