Benchmarks: California Supremes update parol evidence rule (access required)

The California Supreme Court yesterday made the first significant revision to the state’s parol evidence rule since Franklin D. Roosevelt was in the White House. In the process, the court helped the case of two property owners who claimed they were defrauded by their lender when they restructured their debt to avoid foreclosure.
