Benchmarks: Fla. court upholds $15.2M smoker verdict (access required)

A Florida appeals court has upheld a $15.2 million jury award to the family of a two-pack-a-day smoker who died from lung cancer. In affirming the judgment last month, the Florida Court of Appeal (1st District) decided that the wrongful death suit against Lorillard Tobacco Company was properly tried as an Engle progeny case.
