Justices take up health care challenge, severability (access required)

In one of three grants of certiorari that comprise a broad review of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether the federal law’s individual health care coverage mandate is constitutional, and if not, whether it is severable from the rest of the statute.
