NHTSA studies impact of alcohol monitoring bracelets (access required)

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an 18-month study to evaluate the prevalence of SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor) technology in the nation's courts. SCRAM bracelets sample an offender's perspiration every 30 minutes to ensure compliance with court-ordered sobriety.
