Bill to aid suits against foreign manufacturers advances (access required)

WASHINGTON - Legislation that would make it easier for victims of defective foreign-made products to file suit against foreign manufacturers has been advanced by a House committee. The House Energy and Commerce Committee voted Wednesday, July 21, to approve the Foreign Manufacturers Legal Accountability Act, H.R.4678, sponsored by Rep. Betty Sutton, D-Ohio, by a 31-22 vote.
