Medical malpractice defense lawyers may not know that they are likely covered by new HIPAA rules on privacy breaches of health data.
The changes, which were passed as part of the federal stimulus legislation earlier this year, expanded Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements to "business associates" of covered entities.
