NJ top court: Mediation can determine child custody (access required)

The New Jersey Supreme Court has ruled that divorcing couples can choose to settle child custody issues outside of court through mediation. The unanimous decision expands on a 1997 ruling that lawyers acting as mediators can resolve disputes over alimony.
